KCAO Summer Food Program Provides Free Meals for Kids and Teens

School may be out for the summer, but healthy meals are still available for children and teens across Kings County through KCAO’s Summer Food Services Program.

The Summer Food Services Program, also known as SFSP, provides nutritious meals at no cost to children and teens ages 18 and younger during the summer months. The program typically runs from June through August and helps ensure that children continue to have access to healthy meals when school breakfast and lunch programs are not available.

KCAO is serving free breakfast and lunch at multiple locations throughout Kings County, including sites in Hanford, Lemoore, Stratford, and Avenal. Families are encouraged to check the program calendar for exact dates, times, and locations. All sites will be closed July 3.

Meals served through the program meet federal nutrition guidelines and include servings of milk, meat, fruit, vegetables, and grains. These guidelines help ensure children receive balanced meals that support their health, growth, and well-being.

By offering meals at no cost, KCAO’s Summer Food Program helps reduce food insecurity, supports families during the summer months, and gives children access to the nutrition they need to stay active and healthy.

Families interested in learning more or downloading the summer meal calendar can visit kcao.org/sfsp or call KCAO’s Summer Food Services Program at (559) 583-8071.
