Read Across America

KCAO News Briefs: February 25 to March 02

Join KCAO ‘s Head Start Programs in celebrating Dr. Suess’s birthday as we participate in "Read Across America," starting March 4th to March 8th.

Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. This program focuses on the importance of reading to young children by encouraging reading and educating people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults.

Reading stories to children, whether it's a classic novel or a fairy tale at bedtime, can profoundly impact your child's development. Here are some benefits of reading to children:

  • Preparation for academic success

  • Developing a special bond with your child

  • Improved imagination and creativity

  • Increased concentration and discipline
