KCAO Partners with Armona Elementary School District for Community Literacy and Resource Fair
Kings Community Action Organization recently partnered with the Armona Union Elementary School District for its 1st Annual Literacy and Community Support Fair, an afternoon dedicated to connection, learning, and community celebration.
The event brought together local organizations and families for a resource fair filled with information, support services, and a variety of family friendly activities. Community members had the opportunity to connect directly with service providers while enjoying a welcoming and engaging environment.
KCAO was proud to participate with multiple departments, including the Food Bank, Nutrition and Hunger Prevention, Child Care, Head Start, and Outreach teams, all working together to support local families.
The KCAO Food Bank distributed food boxes to families that included fresh produce such as cilantro, oranges, strawberries, cabbage, kale and milk, helping ensure families had access to nutritious foods at home.
The Nutrition and Hunger Prevention team provided healthy beverage options, including snow cones made with one hundred percent juice instead of sugary syrups. They also brought their popular smoothie bike, where attendees could blend their own strawberry banana smoothie by pedaling a stationary bike, making nutrition both fun and interactive.
The Head Start team added to the excitement by offering face painting for children, creating a fun and memorable experience for families attending the event.
Throughout the fair, all KCAO departments connected with families and shared information about available programs and services, helping attendees learn how KCAO can support their needs beyond the event.
Events like this highlight the importance of strong partnerships between schools and community organizations. By working together, KCAO and Armona Union Elementary School District are helping ensure families have access to the resources, education, and support they need to succeed.
