Overland Stockyard Donates Girl Scout Cookies to Barbara Saville Shelter
A sweet act of generosity is making a big difference for families served by the Barbara Saville Shelter.
Local Hanford business Overland Stockyard recently purchased 100 packs of Girl Scout cookies from Troop 3555 and donated to Kings Community Action Organization’s Barbara Saville Shelter as part of a cookie buyout.
The donation was organized by Julie Belezzuoli of Overland Stockyard, who said supporting KCAO’s work in the community was an easy decision.
“We have been seeing all the great work KCAO has been doing in the community, so when it came to deciding who to donate the cookie buyout to, the choice was easy,” Belezzuoli said.
The cookies will be distributed to individuals and families staying at the Barbara Saville Shelter, which provides a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for survivors of domestic violence, elder abuse, human trafficking, and sexual assault.
Community partnerships like this not only provide comfort items, but also serve as a reminder to survivors that they are supported and cared for by their neighbors.
KCAO extends its sincere appreciation to Overland Stockyard and Girl Scout Troop 3555 for their generosity and commitment to giving back.
