KCAO Hosts 60-Year History Exhibition
KCAO invites the public to a free special History Exhibition this August in celebration of our six-decade journey serving Kings County.
This exhibit traces KCAO’s beginnings in 1965, following the passage of the groundbreaking Economic Opportunity Act, all the way to the present day! Visitors will have a chance to see rare photos, newspaper clippings, and archival materials that show how KCAO grew from humble beginnings into the force for change we are today.
From our early Head Start classrooms to today’s comprehensive programs in food security, housing, youth services, and more, this exhibition honors the people, policies, and progress that brought us here. In a time when community support is more vital than ever, looking back reminds us of the importance of advocacy, public investment, and the tireless work of everyday heroes.
This exhibition is not just about the past, it’s a celebration of what we’ve accomplished together and a call to keep building toward a stronger future. Whether you’ve been part of KCAO’s journey or are just learning about us for the first time, this event offers something for everyone. Learn how far we’ve come and why our mission is still just as important today.
We hope to see you there!
