Comcast Makes Donation to KCAO’s Food Bank!

On October 28, 2025, Comcast hosted a groundbreaking ceremony in partnership with the County of Kings to celebrate the launch of its new rural broadband expansion project. The event, held at Kings County Fire Department Station 6 in Lemoore, marked a major investment in connectivity for rural residents, supported by more than $21 million Federal Funding Account Grant from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and private funding by Comcast.

During the ceremony, Comcast also made a generous $10,000 donation to Kings Community Action Organization to support the KCAO Food Bank, which serves thousands of Kings County residents each month.

Members of the CPUC, local leaders, and elected officials joined community members in celebrating both the broadband expansion and Comcast’s contribution to fighting hunger in the region.

This donation comes at a particularly crucial moment for Kings County families. Due to Federal Government delays, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding will not be distributed in November 2025, leaving many households without access to the benefits they rely on to buy groceries.

For KCAO’s Food Bank, which already provides food assistance to hundreds of families each week, the need for additional resources has never been greater. The $10,000 donation from Comcast will help bridge that gap, helping ensure that families facing food insecurity still have access to nutritious meals during this difficult period.
