Rape Crisis Program 

Sexual Assault Services

Trained Sexual Assault Advocates are available to support the needs of Sexual Assault Survivors. Sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim. 

We can provide support with:

  • Section Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE)

  • Emergency shelter services 

  • Counseling 

  • Legal assistance to file Temporary Restraining Order 

  • Court Accompaniment 

  • Peer to peer support 

  • After care case management 

Types of Sexual Assault 

  • Attempted Rape 

  • Fondling or unwanted sexual touching 

  • Forcing a victim to perform sexual acts 

  • Penetration of the victim’s body (rape)

Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

KCAO provides trained Sexual Assault Advocates that will help prisoners in Kings County through their own healing process and ensure they obtain appropriate services while incarcerated. All survivors are referred to our services via their current institutional facility. Institutional facilities are limited to Avenal State Prision(ASP),  California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR) and Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran (SATF-CSP).
