Shoe Drive

Last week, the KCAO Home and Energy Department provided the children at the Oasis Head Start in Avenal with new shoes and socks, made possible by the generous donations received during the KCAO shoe drive in November and December 2023. 

The Home & Energy Department’s goal was to collect 50 new pairs of shoes specific to each child in the preschool program, so each child goes home with a new pair of shoes before Spring Break.  

Thanks to the generous donation of MV Transit, The March Family, and other community members, they were able to collect 61 pairs of shoes. Each donated pair of shoes brought these children warmth, comfort, and a touch of joy.  

We appreciate your support and assistance in positively impacting the lives of those in our community! 

Office Closure  

KCAO will be closed on Monday, April 1st, 2024, in observance of the Cesar Chavez Holiday and resume operations on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024.
