KCAO to Host Domestic Violence Awareness Month Candlelight Vigil and Resource Fair
Kings Community Action Organization and the team at the KCAO Barbara Saville Domestic Violence Shelter are hosting a candlelight vigil and resource fair on Wednesday, October 14th, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hanford Storybook Garden and will bring the community together to honor victims and survivors of domestic violence, raise awareness, and connect individuals and families with local resources.
Guests will have the opportunity to visit resource booths, learn more about services available in the community, and enjoy live music throughout the evening. The event will conclude with a candlelight vigil moment of silence, creating a meaningful space for remembrance, reflection, and support.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed each October as a time to recognize the impact of domestic violence, support survivors, and encourage communities to take action. Through the Barbara Saville Domestic Violence Shelter, KCAO provides critical support to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, including safety planning, shelter, advocacy, and connections to resources.
KCAO invites community members, partners, and supporters to attend this special event and stand together in honor of those affected by domestic violence. By gathering as a community, we can help raise awareness, show support for survivors, and reaffirm our shared commitment to safety, healing, and hope.
