Thank You to the Donors Who Made the Holidays Brighter
Kings Community Action Organization extends its deepest gratitude to the many donors, volunteers, and community partners who stepped up during the holiday season to support local families, children, and individuals in need. Thanks to an overwhelming outpouring of generosity, hundreds of families across Kings County experienced a brighter, warmer, and more hopeful holiday.
KCAO’s Head Start programs received an incredible number of toy donations that helped ensure children had gifts to open and moments of joy to share with their families. Kings River–Hardwick School District donated more than 200 toys and their students were a huge help at the holiday food distributions. Nichols Farms adopted Multiple families, providing toys for children, gifts for parents, and $100 gift cards for each household. Adventist Health’s Emergency Room Department adopted a family from Avenal, delivering a van full of gifts and household essentials. Operation Christmas Blessing 2025 supported families with toys, clothing, bicycles, and household items. Grocery Outlet, through parent advocacy efforts, donated gift cards to help families meet their needs. The “December to Remember” event at Keller Williams created a memorable evening for families, complete with gifts, snacks, photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and a strong sense of community.
The Barbara Saville Domestic Violence Shelter also received support that brought comfort and dignity to survivors and their children during the holidays. Donations of toys and gifts came from Claudia and Antonio’s Tree Service, Laura and Koinonia Church, Dr. Rose’s Orthopedic Office, and Hanford Post Acute, which hosted a toy drive. Corcoran State Prison Staff donated warm winter coats and toys for the children. Mike and Germaine Dias sponsored a shelter family and personally delivered gifts, while Avenal State Prison donated essential toiletries to support residents at the shelter.
In addition to donations, KCAO is grateful for the many volunteers who dedicated their time throughout the holiday season, particularly at food distributions, ensuring families have access to nutritious meals when they need them most. Their willingness to help played a critical role in meeting increased holiday needs across the county.
KCAO is proud to be part of such a compassionate and generous community. The collective efforts of donors and volunteers made a lasting impact and reminded countless families that they are supported, valued, and not alone during the holiday season.
