Over the past 60 years, the impact of Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) on the communities of Kings County has been immense and life-changing. Throughout these six decades of service, we have strived to meet the needs of our community members by providing services that help individuals and families advance in their economic and health well-being. These mission-driven efforts have only been possible thanks to the dedication of our board members, staff, donors, funders, volunteers, and partners who have stood by KCAO to deepen our impact. We recognize that the world around us has drastically changed over the last six decades, and KCAO will continue to evolve as the economic, social, and health needs of our community change. However, it is reassuring that our mission to help individuals, families, and communities advance toward self-sufficiency is deeply rooted in the bedrock of our wonderful Kings County. This gives us confidence that we will have more opportunities to break new ground for current and future generations. The year 2025 has the potential to be monumental for our agency and, most importantly, for the community members we serve. We will make significant contributions to the field of Early Childhood Education through the addition of new preschool classrooms at the Clay Center Campus in Hanford. Our efforts to combat homelessness, the lack of affordable housing, food insecurity, and access to nutritious meals will be addressed with dedication and innovation through the construction of the new Food Bank and Service Center. This project is scheduled to break ground this summer, and we are excited about the synergy of services that will come with this one-campus approach. This will not only meet individuals’ basic needs but also move them onto a pathway towards self-sufficiency. Additionally, we will expand our efforts to provide affordable housing, making housing options available to individuals who struggle to make ends meet. We will continue to enhance our ongoing service efforts to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of our resources, helping working families, seniors, veterans, and individuals in job training programs access resources that will strengthen their foundation and enhance their quality of life. As we look ahead to the next 60 years, we promise to still be true to who we are. We will continue to focus on the current needs of our communities, support local efforts of our public and private sectors to enhance our communities, and find new and innovative methods to help our community members advance and strengthen their foundation.
