Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO)! The KCAO board and staff would like to welcome you to the team and look forward to building a long-lasting relationship.
KCAO changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
Volunteer Program Overview
The volunteer program is designed to encourage active public participation in the communities of Kings County, to empower, provide dignity to volunteers and community members alike. This program develops a reliable and skilled network of volunteers who work throughout the organization.
Volunteer Philosophy
KCAO welcomes and encourages volunteers to join the team and make a difference in the community, organization, and themselves. KCAO believes volunteerism will improve lives, provide experience, give individuals dignity, and empower individuals to make a difference in their community.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, in these categories:
- Preschool Support
- Healthy Marriage Class – Child Care
- Summer Food Program
- Women’s Shelter
- Food Bank Warehouse
- Office Assistant
- Internships available
We also have special projects that will be available on weekends.
