Strengthening Marriages Strengthening Children
The Marriage Matters Program will help Kings County residents gain greater access to marriage education services and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to form and sustain a healthy marriage. Classes are free and will be provided in Avenal, Corcoran, Hanford, Kettleman City, Lemoore and Stratford in both English and Spanish.
Retreat
Our Healthy Marriage Program had its first annual Family Retreat. The event was a total success. We took three busloads of people, one from Corcoran and two from Hanford. We had 150 participants that included parents, children, staff and marriage and therapy facilitators from all areas of Kings County.
The Families enjoyed a weekend of educational classes, outdoor activities, and lots of fun and food. Parents participated in a Family Wellness curriculum, and as family they enjoyed the activities of the outdoors at the Montecito resort, that included hiking, canoeing, archery, rock climbing, and several others.
