Tax ASSISTANCE – You’ve Earned It, You Keep It
The program is designed to financially strengthen individuals and families through financial literacy and the receiving of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The program will operate from January 2012 through April 2012 in six communities: Hanford, Home Garden, Lemoore, Corcoran, Kettleman City, and Avenal. The KCAO Tax Resource Assistants will be available to assist individuals in the filing of state and federal tax forms as well as the EITC forms through the “I-CAN E-File” program. The I-CAN E-File is an online tool that helps those eligible for the EITC and other tax credits file their taxes without being charged a processing fee. By answering simple tax related questions, the I-CAN E-File will prepare and complete the tax return forms.
