Food Assistance

Child Care Food Program
This program was created to ensure that children in child care homes receive nutritious, well-balanced meals and are encouraged to develop healthy eating habits. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and I administered by the California Department of Education. KCAO is a sponsor as well as working directly with the child care providers. KCAO Child Care Food Program trains new providers in all of the regulations and explains how to fill out the forms that are submitted monthly for reimbursement.

Emergency Food
Emergency Food is available once per month to families/individuals throughout Kings County. In order to receive Emergency Food you must have a food referral from any local social service agency such as Human Services, Kings View, and Family Resource Centers etc. You must meet the income guidelines for this program. USDA Commodity
Commodities are available once per month to families/individuals throughout Kings Cunty. In order to receive commodities you must complete an application and be within the income guideline. We currently have distribution sites located in Hanford, Kettleman City, Corcoran, Lemoore, Stratford and Avenal. For more information please call (559) 415-7271
