KCAO Receives $15,000 grant from PG&E to fight hunger in Kings County

Kings Community Action Organization was awarded a grant from PG&E totaling $15,000. KCAO is thankful for PG&E’s commitment to helping address food insecurity in Kings County. The funding will be use to support the KCAO Summer Food and Hunger Prevention Programs. Through the assistance of PG&E, the programs combine to provide food resources to over 11,000 individuals in Kings County; with many of the recipients being children.

In 2012 the KCAO Summer Food Program is expecting to provide 40,000 meals to children who are on summer break. While the KCAO Hunger Prevention Program is projecting to provide over 25,000 food boxes to Kings County households.
